What Is the 2025 Inflation Rebate?
The rebate is a one-time tax refund authorized by the New York State government to support working families during a period of high inflation.
Unlike traditional stimulus checks, this rebate is tied to your 2024 income tax return and is intended to return excess tax revenue back to qualifying households.

Who’s Eligible?
To receive the payment, you must meet these basic requirements:

Be a New York State resident

Have filed Form IT-201 (Resident Income Tax Return)

Fall within approved income thresholds

Not be listed as a dependent on another taxpayer’s return
If you meet these conditions, you do not need to apply separately.
The state will automatically process your rebate using your tax filing information.
Rebate Amounts by Income Level
The amount of your check will depend on your filing status and reported income:

$400 – Married couples filing jointly with income up to $150,000

$300 – Joint filers earning between $150,001 and $300,000

$200 – Single filers with income up to $75,000

$150 – Single filers earning between $75,001 and $150,000

When Will You Receive Your Rebate?
The New York State Department of Taxation and Finance will begin issuing checks between August and October 2025.
