Pennsylvania Renters and Homeowners: You Could Get a PTRR Check of Up to $1,500 in 2026
Pennsylvania has officially opened applications for the Property Tax/Rent Rebate (PTRR) Program for 2026, offering much-needed financial relief to residents struggling with housing costs.
Backed by Governor Josh Shapiro, the program is designed to help vulnerable Pennsylvanians stay in their homes and keep up with essential bills as rent and property taxes continue to rise.
With affordability challenges hitting seniors, renters, and people with disabilities especially hard, PTRR remains one of the state’s most important relief programs.

The PTRR program is targeted, not universal. You may be eligible if you fall into one of these groups:
-
Seniors: Age 65 or older
-
Widows and widowers: Age 50 or older
-
People with disabilities: Age 18 or older
Applicants must also meet income limits to qualify.
